Giving a speech is an excellent form of self expression. One can enlighten others by their thoughts and educate others. In school and college speeches are organized very often so students can participate and talk on various subjects like environment, technology, politics, finance,gender equality and many more. By giving a speech in front of a crowd one can improve communication skills and become confident.

- When and to whom you gave the speech.
I participated in an event organized by our state government and it was held in my university last year. where different speakers talked about the alarming issues in the society and I gave this speech in front of a huge audience from diverse backgrounds which included students, professors, academic experts, government officials,teachers and students from different schools. And my friends from college.
- What was the speech about?
My speech was about gender equality and today's condition compared to the past. In my speech I talked in detail about the condition of women and their rights in the past. How much injustice was done on a gender basis. Today gender is just an identity and men and women walk shoulder to shoulder and take equal responsibility. We see girls and boys taking interest in all fields. The boundaries have disappeared today. We can see women pilot's, politicians,and in Army and top academic positions , Men also take huge interest in kitchens and fashion designers which is considered a taboo in the past.
- Why did you give the speech?
I wanted to express my thoughts on the current trends and this was the best event to talk to a huge mass and encourage others to take part in such activities. My professor insisted that I take part as he knows I am an excellent orator and he helped me to choose a nice subject. I did an elaborate research about facts and figures which I share in my speech.
- How did you feel about it?
I love to talk in public and I don't have a drop of fear when I address a huge crowd. In fact I always grab such opportunities to improve my self confidence and communication skills. I saw people listening to me so curiously and paying absolute attention when I was talking which gave me confidence to speak more. I felt so nice to take part in this event and even win the first prize for giving an excellent speech.

Introduction.
Participation in extracurricular activities makes communication skills stronger and enhances one's personality. Giving a speech can improve self expression and help others in education, motivation,and guidance. We attended speeches and lectures on various occasions like school, college, motivation, political campaigns, religious and spiritual and many more.
- When and to whom you gave the speech.
Here I am going to talk about a speech I gave in my school days. Our school organized an elocution competition every year and our teachers always motivated us to speak on various topics. This speech was organized in our school hall and the whole school was present when I gave this speech.
- What was the speech about.
Today the biosphere we live in is under serious threat of contamination and my speech was all about environment awareness and human effect on the atmosphere. I spoke on various alarming issues like air pollution,water pollution,use of plastic and recycling, saving water and water bodies. All these areas are affected due to increasing urbanization and industrialization. Increasing population is putting pressure on natural resources and making life more challenging.
- Why did you give the speech?
My sole purpose of giving this speech is to spread awareness as I am a member of the environmental awareness society and I attended many lectures of experts who have given serious contributions in this initiative. I thought my knowledge would be useful in this competition and students will be motivated to plant trees, save water, stop deforestation, and start recycling and stop using more plastic. I wanted them to believe There is a fantastic life out there without doing these harmful activities which increase the greenhouse effect.
- How did you feel about it?
My feelings can't be explained in words as I observed my friends and others who were carefully listening to me and they clapped when I discussed a problem and gave an interesting solution. Everybody was so engrossed and appreciated my efforts when I ended my speech I got a standing ovation from all of my school students and management. And my school awarded me with a trophy and title of green ambassador of the school.

1. Why do people get nervous when they speak in public?
People get nervous just because of stage fear and hesitation that they have in mind the fear of being judged and criticized. People are more conscious about their personality and what others think about them. When they do it multiple times without a mistake they become confident and emerge as leaders.
2. How can they improve their public speaking skills?
Public speaking is all about information and confidence. When you have correct and reliable information which is beneficial to others, you are motivated to speak in front of a huge group. One can start speaking in small groups on various topics and then cultivate communication skills.
3. What different kinds of speeches or lectures have you attended in your life?
I have attended many lectures in my life. They are related to my academics, religion, motivation and business related lectures. I am also interested in political speeches which I get the opportunity to listen to during the election season.
4. What qualities (attributes) should these visiting speakers have?
Visiting speakers should keep certain things in mind like the subject of the topic ; they should not get disoriented or hurt personal sentiments when they talk about sensitive topics. They should not be offencive. Visiting speakers should also do a detailed research before speaking.
5. Why do many people find it hard to talk to young children?
It is really hard to communicate to young children because they are just bombarded with questions and they are so curious about everything around them. Sometimes if they don't find your company they may leave immediately so one needs to be informative and entertaining both at the same time.
6. Why do you think many people are nervous before they give a speech?

7. Why do people give speeches to children?
Everybody wants to educate the next generation so they can be better citizens and make the family proud. So on various occasions they transmit knowledge in the form of Speech to children and while giving a speech one covers all related topics so children can expand their knowledge on the particular subject.
8. How does the media relate to the speech to children in school?
Media is a popular platform where children can enlighten themselves with a variety of knowledge and then use this content in the form of speech in school and other academic platforms.
