Introduction.
India is a land of diversity and rich culture and tradition. There are many festivals celebrated all around the country which have religious and cultural importance. People from different religions and faith live here peacefully and practice their festivals. Diwali,holi, uttarayan,Eid, and new year are celebrated here in full swing.

Here I am going to talk about Diwali and this is the biggest festival of my country and it is celebrated all over the country. According to Hindu calendar The exact dates change each year and are determined by the position of the moon – but it usually falls between October and November.
what you do during it.
During this festival there is a mini vacation so I like to visit my relatives and plan a mini vacation. After the celebration of Diwali. On the day of Diwali we decorate our house with traditional lamps and make a rangoli in front of the gate. My mom cooks traditional dishes and we enjoy a lot of food, light lamps, and firecrackers to celebrate this festival.
what you like or dislike about it.
I like everything about this festival as it is a grand festival and a lot of shopping happens during this period. We get a chance to meet our friends and relatives during this time. By celebration of this festival we remember the homecoming of our lord Rama from exile and we cheer his greatness. Every home is decorated with various colors and designs.

This festival is important because in our culture the new yeyis also celebrated at the same time we wish each other a Happy New year and begin our business and other ventures during this time. So it's the most important festival in my country.

Absolutely yes I can feel that today culture and traditions are celebrated but some festivals are forgotten. Due to globalization today we live in a multicultural society so some traditional holidays are disappearing.
2. Do children like to learn about traditional festivals?
Definitely yes they love to hear mythological stories and folklore behind every festival. Other than that they come closer to culture and traditions by knowing the importance behind it.
3. Is music important to traditional festivals?
Yes, in all festivals some kind of dance happens and this is impossible without music. Traditional folk dances were performed using traditional handmade music instruments which produced interesting sound quality.
4. What is the importance of traditional festivals?
The importance of traditional festivals is that we need to remember our culture and tradition by celebrating festivals to keep it alive and transmit it to the next generation. We need to pass our rich heritage to the coming generations otherwise western culture will take over.
5. What’s the difference between festivals now and in the past?
Festival in the past were celebrated keeping all traditional and rituals in mind and they were followed religiously without compromising anything while today we celebrate traditional festivals using Western rituals like cutting cake, loud music,and many others.
6. Do you think western festivals like Christmas are replacing traditional festivals in your country?
No Absolutely not western festivals like Christmas are celebrated in my country as diversity is our identity but our festivals are also celebrated with the same importance. There is nothing like replacing each other's festivals.
7. Do you think it is wrong for children not to celebrate traditional festivals?
Children should celebrate all the festivals keeping enjoyment and culture and tradition in mind. We can never change our identity so we should feel proud of our festivals and relate ourselves with our festivals.
