Describe An Unusual Meal That You Had.

Introduction.

India is known for its diversity and food is also different and unique all over the country. Many other cuisines are also famous in my country. People never miss a chance to try new food in my country. Sometimes trying unusual food can be exciting and horrible at the same time.

- When did you eat it?- Where did you eat it?

Here I am going to talk about an unusual dish I had in my winter vacation. I visited Delhi and my friend took me to the old city where I found a food paradise where I tasted one unusual dish: fried momos. Actually Momos are very popular in Delhi and people love them here. There is a range of variety in momos with different ingredients. I never had it so I inquired about it and my friend told me it's originally a Nepali delicacy and now popular all over the world. It's very tasty. People love steamed momos in winter as it gives them comfort in the cold. Along with steamed momos there are fried momos which are similar in taste and consumed with mayonnaise and garlic paste which is very spicy in taste.

- With whom you had the meal?

I had this dish with my best friend who is a localite and he knows every corner of the city and has a really good taste in food. He is a foodie and keeps trying different dishes. He is basically a food blogger so he knows where the food is best and we both had a wonderful time eating together.

- Why do you think it was unusual?

Momos are very unusual to me as I have only heard about it on food blogs I watched. The making is totally different and unique as the ingredients are boiled and mixed with spices and they are steamed which makes it a mouthwatering dish.

Model Answer 2

Describe An Unusual Meal That You Had.

Introduction.

Food is something that always fascinates me and I love to try various dishes from different places. India is a diverse country and the diversity is visible in food. Also every state in my country has its own food and it's delicious in its own way. Food from different cultures always attracts foodies from all around the World. Whenever I get a chance to taste a new dish I always grab the opportunity.

- When did you eat it.- Where did you eat it?

Here I am going to talk about an unusual meal I had when I visited North East India for a wedding and I got a chance to try Phan Pyut which is a North Indian delicacy in this dish Potatoes are used to make it. Potatoes are part of the staple diet for the majority of Indians. It’s the same with this that is part of the regular North East Indian cuisine. Except that the potatoes are rotten. Ask them why and they’ll tell you how delicious it is. This one probably tops the list of weird food in India which people actually eat as the main ingredient itself is rotten!! But people do enjoy eating it and they have no qualms about eating it raw or cooking it like any other vegetable.

- With whom you had the meal?

I had this dish when I was wandering the streets of North East town and my friend insisted I tasted this dish and we tried it in a roadside restaurant. It looks extremely weird but when you eat it's feels tasty.

- Why do you think it was unusual?

The name itself is unusual and it is not very popular to my knowledge. I have never heard about this dish anywhere on the internet or in a book. It is an extremely rare food only consumed in the North East of my country. So I found this meal unusual.
