Describe a Time You Had a Disagreement with Someone IELTSCUECARDS-VINODSHARMAIELTS

Describe A Time You Had A Disagreement With Someone.

Introduction.

Two different people can absolutely have contrasting opinions and this can lead to a disagreement. People with the same interest and good knowledge and experience will agree quickly. When there is an opposite belief and mindset there is a greater chance of disagreement. People should think twice and always give priority to relationships and avoid escalation.

Who was the person

Here I am going to talk about my uncle. I had a huge disagreement with him recently when he visited our house. Normally I do take his advice but sometimes I do not agree with him. I always listen to his opinion. If I find something valuable I definitely take it into consideration.

Why did you have the disagreement

Recently I finished my further education and I was planning for my higher education and I wanted to go abroad for my higher education as foreign education infrastructure is the best compared to my home country. I was searching for some good universities in The United States. My uncle wanted me to study in my hometown which was not exciting and beneficial for my overall development. He believed going overseas for education is a waste of money and resources.

Was the issue resolved? If yes, how?

Yes, I definitely respect him a lot so I did not take this so seriously but I kept calm and explained to him the foreign education system and the benefits of higher education from a world's top university. It can open heaven's doors. I gave him examples of successful people from our relatives and successful people who have made a fortune out of it. My uncle thought and then happily agreed with me and requested my father to proceed ahead. He also assured me whatever help I Need he will provide.

How did you feel about it?

I felt so irritated in the beginning when he refused my idea of education abroad but after an elaborate discussion when he understood my point of view I felt good. And when he offered his full support to me I felt strong and motivated.

Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone. MODEL ANSWER 2

Introduction.

Taking decisions is very important and people may agree or disagree with our decision. We must respect their opinion. I often agree with my parents and friends' decisions but sometimes my opinion is different and I disagree with them on certain issues. If someone is not comfortable with my opinion I try to understand their side. If I feel I am wrong I change my decision.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about a time I disagreed with my parents decision about buying a house.

Who was the person

I had a disagreement with my father. My parents are very quick in decision making and their decisions are good. My father never wastes time in discussing with others. One day my father decided to sell our heritage house and buy a new one. And my mother also agreed with him. This decision was made very quickly without giving a second thought and proper analysis. My both parents wanted to buy a new property so they decided to sell our heritage house which we inherited from our forefathers.

Why did you have the disagreement

I have very emotional bonding with my house and my entire childhood memories are attached with the house and the locality. I can not think of leaving my friend's house,And my Heritage House it's more than awesome. So I suggested that my father renovate it with modern amenities. So they can feel the change in the house . I also suggested some changes they can make and use the space properly.

Was the issue resolved? If yes, how?

Yes, absolutely it was resolved after a brief discussion with my parents and they understood my feelings. I disagreed because I had a strong bond with my grandfather and he always told me stories about our house and area. It was the same place he spent his childhood so he took good care of it. He also took assurance from  me that I would never sell this house and always preserve it.

Describe a time you had a disagreement with someone-Model Answer 3

Introduction.

People have contrasting views sometimes and it's natural that you may disagree with your friends, parents, partners and colleagues. When disagreement happens one should try to explain their view so others can understand. Disagreement can happen over two different choices or ideas regarding anything in life.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about a time I had a disagreement with my friends.

Who was the person? Why did you have the disagreement?

I had a disagreement with my friend Joe. We have been planning a trip to Shimla and Manali for a very long time. And he was continuously telling me about our trip. I was not ready as I was reading news about the bad weather in North India. Just before a day of travelling I read news about a huge landslide and a lot of fatal accidents so I refused to travel and told him to postpone the trip. We had an argument and he was quite unhappy with my decision. He wanted the trip to be adventurous and did not care about the ongoing situation. While I minded the weather and I did not wanted to take a risk

Was the issue resolved? If yes, how?

We had an elaborate discussion in our friends group and we postponed our trip for one week. And the disagreement was settled between us. In a few days Joe was thanking me as there was heavy rainfall and a cloud burst and a lot of people died. And many were stuck on the road in traffic with food. The situation was in the news and everyone was discussing it. I thanked God that I did not travel and paid attention to the weather forecast so I was saved.
