Describe a Lesson You Learnt-IELTSCUECARDS-VINODSHARMAIELTS

Describe a lesson you learnt.

Introduction.

Learning is a process which continues throughout life. We all learn academic and social lessons from our parents, teachers, friends and relatives. Some lessons are related to skills like cooking and driving. They are essential lessons in today's life and make one self dependent. Some academic lessons are vital and we need to learn them at the right time.

Main Answer

Here I am going to talk about an important lesson I learned from my grandfather.

What was it?

My grandfather is my role model and I have learnt many important lessons from him in my childhood. He helped me with my academics and when I grew up he taught me how to be a good person. My grandfather respected time a lot and he never liked anyone who did not respect time so he taught me the importance of punctuality. He always insisted if you have given a commitment then keep your word at any cost.

What exactly happened?

I am good at my academics and I do well in studies so my cousin brother always comes to me for help in academics. One day I promised to teach him something important and I forgot and went out with my friends to hangout. My cousin was waiting till night. I didn't show up and the next day It was his exam and he wanted my guidance. My grandfather got angry at me that day and taught me a lesson of punctuality and commitment. He scolded me and made me sit and teach him till late at night. He wanted me to learn and never repeat that mistake. My ignorance could have a negative effect on my brother. So that day I promised him to never repeat this mistake.

What lesson did you learn?

The lesson that I learnt was very important and vital for my life. I had to be punctual and committed to my appointments. If I have given a word to someone I should be there on time. Today I am a successful man in the business and personal front. My friends respect me just because of my punctual nature and commitment. I am grateful that my grandfather taught me this lesson.
