Fossil fuels, such as coal, oil and natural gas, are used in many countries. But in some countries, the use of alternative sources of energy, including wind and solar power, has been encouraged. Is this trend a positive or a negative development?

Introduction.

Modern society requires a huge amount of energy on a daily basis. Traditionally countries were dependent on coal and crude oil and there is a shift towards natural sources as they are more viable in today's scenario. Coal and oil are not suitable today as they have negative effects on the biosphere.

On the one hand, energy is essential to lead a normal life to operate electronic equipment, vehicles and industries. Without energy it is impossible to imagine life. In the past , fossils were used to produce electricity to fulfill the daily requirements of energy. Today with increasing demand for electricity and reducing fossil fuels there is a shortage at some. Moreover, Transportation of coal and oil is also an issue in some places and contamination of air, water is the main negative effect behind using fossil fuels. International markets are also fluctuating which make the use of fossil fuels more difficult.

On the other hand, energy produced from alternative sources like wind and solar are largely appreciated by all developing and developed countries as the energy produced by this means is not negative at all. Using solar energy is far more convenient than traditional energy. For example, people can install solar systems in their houses and use unlimited energy which is free and clean. Moreover, governments can install windmills and solar plants in some areas and generate huge amounts of electricity which requires very less maintenance and no extra cost on transport.

To sum up,  Energy produced by solar and wind are the most viable options in today's world and it's a win-win situation for people and governments without damaging the environment.
