Introduction.

India is a land of lakes and rivers being an agricultural country many people depend on rivers for agriculture. Some rivers are holy rivers and they carry religious importance. In ancient scriptures rivers like Ganga, yamuna,narmada, Sindhu, kaveri have given significant importance.

Main Answer.

Here I am going to talk about a river in my hometown.

- Which water body is that?

This is a very important water body in my state Gujarat. It's called river Sabarmati. It flows from the important city Ahmedabad and a lot of development is done here on the bank.

- How do you know about it?

Everyone in my state is known to river Sabarmati as it holds religious and spiritual importance. It is also one of the most important river in my state so I have studied about it in my school days.

- Why does it impress you so much?

As this river flows from the main city Ahmedabad a riverfront is developed and it looks spectacular. It is a place where we find hordes of tourists. The government encourages people to visit this place by celebrating important festivals here like kite flying and many important events are held here. People of the city come here regularly for a walk and exercise. I got impressed when the Chinese President visited and this place received a lot of media coverage.

Here I am going to talk about an amazing lake in my country.

- Which water body is that?

The name of this waterbody is Dal Lake; it is located in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. It is an urban lake, the second largest lake in Jammu and Kashmir, and the most visited place in Srinagar by tourists and locals.

- How do you know about it?

I came to know about this lake from social media where I saw bloggers making videos about the Beauty of this lake. Then I read more on the internet and collected more information regarding this lake. It's like heaven on earth. The spectacular views of this lake mesmerizes the tourists from across the country.

- Why does it impress you so much?

There are so many activities tourists can do here especially houseboats are an experience of a lifetime one should get. The picturesque views all around makes one feel the real beauty of nature. Another impressive thing is the Floating Post Office, Dal Lake— claimed to be the only one such post office in the world built on an intricately carved maroon houseboat, fastened on the western edge of Dal Lake.

Rivers are important parts of any demographic. In Fact they act as veins of a body for a country. And India is a land of holy rivers which are worshipped and carry religious and spiritual importance. There are abundant benefits of these water bodies. A huge amount of the population literally depends on rivers.

Here I am going to talk about a river that is important in my state for multiple reasons. 

- Which water body is that?

The Narmada, the largest west flowing river of the Peninsula, rises near the Amarkantak range of mountains in Madhya Pradesh. It is the fifth largest river in the country and the largest one in Gujarat. It traverses Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat and meets the Gulf of Cambay. This river also has a huge dam constructed on it which is sardar sarovar and it provides fresh water to many parts of my state and generates a good amount of electricity for the state.

- How do you know about it?- Why does it impress you so much

Narmada is a well known river. Students start to learn about it from their primary age in school. It is also called Reva. There is abundant information about Ma Reva on the internet. Today it's a popular tourist destination in the world. As the statue of unity is constructed. People from all around the world come here and visit the dam, world's tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and the many other tourist traps.Moreover,This river is important in many ways as Narmada is considered the mother and giver of peace, Large irrigation projects have been completed on Narmada River, which supply water to hundreds of farmers all over central Furthermore,Dams and hydroelectric powerhouses have been built to fully utilise the flow of this river. Asia’s largest dam, Indira Sagar Dam, is on the Narmada River.

People like to go near the lakes for leisure activities like water sports because they disconnect themselves from the real world and they have fun in the water and they do various activities which give them pleasure and the seaside is so relaxing so people like to go and have a silent time near the lake, rivers or sea areas.

2. What kinds of leisure activities do people like to do in water places?

People like to do various activities in water places especially they like to play water sports and swim near the water places. Sometimes they also do camping bonfires and they like to sit in silence near the water places. Meditation is also preferred by some older people near the water places.

3. Do children and old people relax in the same ways when they go to the beach?

No children and old people do not relax in the same way but they definitely relax near the beach. Children make sand houses, play in the water and do water sports and adventure sports while the older people prefer to just sit in silence and hear the noise of the sea or flowing river and they relax.

4. Why do people like water sports?

Water sports are so adventurous and everybody likes the adrenal rush that they get from doing water sports. Those who are adventurous definitely like water sports. It is a thrilling experience and people also who are fit by body they like to do water sports. They especially do it for adventure.

5. Do you think the beach or seaside is more suitable for children or old people to spend their leisure time at?

Yes absolutely, the beach and seaside both are very suitable for children as they can play in the open area and older people can really relax and do exercise like walking and jogging so it is a very good place to spend leisure time.

6. Is there much water transportation in your country?

Definitely yes my country is connected by water bodies from two different sides and there is very good transportation available by the water and my country also imports and exports valuable goods to the world so yes we have excellent infrastructure in the form of water transportation and my country facilitates the businessmen by this water roots to connect the world.

7. Do people travel by boat in your country?

Yes absolutely people in my country love too like to travel by the boat in fact when they travel to a tourist place or nearby a river or a seaside they love to take a ferry ride or a boat ride especially children like speed boats and their sometimes also do river rafting so boating is basically a popular activity in my country.

8. How important is water in daily life?

Water is a very important natural resource and it is sacred. We should use water very carefully and it should not be wasted at all because many people in the world are living in scarcity of water so those who have water in enough quantity should use it very wisely as it carries so much importance in the world.

9. How important are rivers and lakes to the cities where they are located?

Reverse and lakes have historical importance and they are geographically also very important for any area in India rivers and lakes play a very important role as they are also important religiously and spiritually as India being a country of agriculture majority of the farmers depend on the water from lakes and rivers fishermen also depend on the lakes and rivers for their daily catch so delivers and lakes are very important in my country as they are also used in water transportation in different cities.

10. Do the rivers in your country suffer from serious pollution?

Yes this is a visible problem in the metro cities those rivers which are passing through the cities or urban areas they are polluted there are people who don't take care of this rivers and they dump chemicals and waste into the rivers so the water bodies are being affected heavily in the urban areas while in the countryside the rivers are flowing harmlessly they are very clean only the rivers in the city are facing pollution by people and factories.

11. Do you think human activity is posing a threat to oceans globally?

Yes, human activity is posing a global threat to marine life and oceans globally because of water transportation and overfishing in the oceans. There are some species of marine life which are near to extinction and the pollution from the humans and factories are a global threat to the oceans and important water bodies.
