Getting lost today is not very often with advanced maps and gps. People travel fearlessly around the globe with modern gadgets and they drive confidentiality in an unknown place. But still there are chances of getting lost in crowded areas, Malls and places where there is no internet and remote areas.

Here I am going to talk about a time I got lost in Ahmedabad in a street market.

- When did it happen

It was diwali time and in gujarat people go gaga for shopping there is crowded everywhere malls and street markets are flooded with customers. On weekdays near festival like diwali one should visit Lal darwaja it's a street market in Ahmedabad

- Who was with you

I was with my friends and cousins. We went to buy our clothes and some essential things for home. One of my cousins stays in the city so he knows the city well and he warned me to drive carefully and stay behind his car. Otherwise there are complex roads which are difficult to follow.

- What did you do 

I was driving my car behind him and traffic was my god. I can not imagine this many vehicles on a narrow street. Suddenly I felt my cousin's car was not visible and I was lost . I called him to ask for a location but my battery was also down using the gps.

- How you felt about it

For a while I felt nervous and afraid of traffic. I thought I should return home as I would not find him again. But I inquired about the road and people are extremely cooperative. One told me to drive straight. And the road ends near a mall. From there you can call your brother and meet him there. I reached and called my brother there. It was a sense of satisfaction.

No, I do not get lost often. But sometimes in unknown places where it is crowded and roads are not visible this happens to me but I am heavily dependent on gps so I find my ways.

Is map-reading skill important?

Yes, definitely it is the most important skill today when people travel a lot for different reasons. This skill can save time and make journeys interesting for them.

Are some people better at map-reading than others?

Yes, definitely they are they use Google maps everyday and they are good at directions so they can find the route in a better way so yes those who use maps regularly they are good at map reading.

Should they find information about the place before going there?

Yes, finding information before traveling can save time and resources. And make travelling interesting. If we do some work before traveling then our journey becomes memorable.

Why do some people like travelling to other places?

Travelling is a hobby and exploring different places is amazing. People want to experience different cultures,food, and historical places of other regions so they like to travel.
