How does one use cohesive devices in the IELTS writing task 2

How does one use cohesive devices in the IELTS writing task 2, so that it "attracts no attention", according to the band 9 descriptors for Coherence and Cohesion?

This criterion relates to another found in the C&C descriptors: “style”. An effective use of style means that ideas flow from one to another like chord progressions in a piece of music. It’s difficult to describe how it’s achieved, but it’s quite noticeable when it’s not. The reader doesn’t notice the exact transition point between one idea to the next because the prose before the transition was already leading the reader to that point. This kind of writing makes cohesive devices practically unnecessary, and when present, they attract no attention.
COmpare this to the heavy-handed “noticeable” was of using cohesion that often results when IELTTS candidates rely on a template of transition markers. NO matter what the topic, BP1 is going to start “On the one hand,” followed by “That is to say….” or “In other words,” then there’s the “For example/instance”.. And you bet the next paragraph begins “On the other other hand,” That’s cohesive devices being obrusive.
