Street markets are very common in India and majority of people buy their products from street markets as these products are reasonable and affordable to many sections of society. Even people can buy a variety of products from the local vendors. One another thing is bargaining. If you have good skills you can buy products at a very good rate. Outdoor market sells almost everything in my country from footwear,clothes, electronics, cosmetics and many more.
Main AnswerHere I am going to talk about a jacket I bought from the street market.
- When it wasI visited ahmedabad a week ago and here Lal darwaja is a very well known street market. This Market is crowded on weekends and holidays. I visited on a holiday so it was quite difficult to move also.
- Where the market wasThis Market is located in the Heart of the old city and has been there for more than a century. It's the oldest market in my state. My family goes shopping whenever we have functions in our home and I need to buy clothes and electronic items. I also buy books from this Market.
- What you bought- And how you felt about it.Recently I bought a Jacket from here and I got the deal at a very reasonable price. I compared malls and online I found that the quality of the product was quite good and the local vendor recommended it to me. It was from a local company but the merchant said it has positive reviews from people so I bought this product I am using and feel very comfortable and it's an excellent product.

India being a diverse country we have all kinds of markets from open street market, malls, supermarkets, street stores, every demographic has suitable markets which serve good quality of products and street markets are the heart of Indian market.

No small markets will never disappear in the future; they will co exist with the current market trends. There are people who love to buy only from small markets, for example vegetables markets and accessories markets will never get replaced by modern supermarkets.
Have people's shopping habits changed in recent years?
Yes there is a significant change in buying behaviour of people and today with little time and more demands of service. People are moving towards online shopping. As the goods and services are provided at their door steps.
What are the differences between shopping in street markets and big shopping malls?
The main difference is the crowd is different in the city. It's all congested and populated, there is traffic and stray animals. While the malls are clean, temperature controlled, soft music is played. In products the street market offers more variety and range. While in malls brands are given importance in sales.
